The Kempo Jujitsu taught by the Northern Martial Arts studios is strictly a street self-defence art and has no sporting applications. It is suitable for men, women and children, from 7 to 70...! It is geared to the individual and his/her capabilities.

As an instructor, I believe that everyone should be able to defend him or herself, on the street or even in a domestic situation, and Kempo Jujitsu is the ideal "self-defence" system. With the ever-increasing amount of violence on our streets, some degree of self-defence training is vital. Also the use of weapons (bats, bottles, knifes, chains etc.) has increased in street violence. I feel it necessary that people should learn how to defend themselves against these items. I teach street awareness; women's self-defence, and aim to increase a general awareness of the environment and situation that you may find yourself in.
